I am currently booking commissions for November 2020 start dates. I have lots of time the next few months!
I am happy to work with you to co-create a custom piece that suits your space. I have done numerous custom pieces and can provide references.
There are numerous ways to approach a commission. The images to the right represent work I have created over the past few years and may serve as a reference point for a similar commissioned piece. To quote a price, I will need the overall dimensions and wood you are interested in, plus depending on the composition, either photographs of a scene or swatches for color in the case of an abstract design.
I have found that commissions require a lot of extra work in terms of communications and my own efforts in trying to determine what you are expecting as well as making swatches and sending wood samples. Pricing is commensurate with these efforts and pieces typically cost a bit more than similar sized works you may see at a show.
My terms: A 50% non refundable deposit to begin. The balance plus shipping is due upon completion. If you are not happy with the finished piece, there are 2 options. First, I can make another piece for you for an additional 25%. Secondly, you can apply the money paid towards any piece available on my site or at a show.
"Oh Amy...I am speechless...I may be biased but I think that is one of the most beautiful pieces you’ve created. All the emotion. The colors. The walnut. So dramatic. I love it and can’t wait to hang it above my hearth."
"Amy - I was just reminded today that 5 years ago I bought a piece of yours after the Milwaukee LFOA as a gift. Anyway, we moved right after that and didn't around to painting the new place and hanging art for another year or two. But for the past ~2 years, this is what my wife and I wake up to every day. We love it (and the dog too!)."
"We love it."
"Thank you for the beautiful piece of art that you created that I purchased from you today. It is really special. Thank you also for the smaller felt you included for my sister. That was very nice of you. My sister and I both agree that you have the best "colors" at the art fair."
"OMG that is beautiful!!!!!!! I was gone all day, and didn't want to open it on my iPhone, wanted to wait till i got home to computer. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece of art Amy. Thank you so very much for creating this stunning piece, I can't wait to hang it and be able to see it every day. It is definitely what I call a smile maker...it will bring joy to our eyes whenever we look at it and the older I get the more I adore having art that brings smile to my face and joy to my eyes. Thank you!"
"Wow! The piece is amazing! Can't wait for it to arrive! I sent the original photo and your picture to my sister and mom. They both had great things to say...impressive, exquisite and wow."
"I am so over the moon about my treasure from your show yesterday I could not wait to hang it. The lighting does not do it justice in this picture but it hangs in place of pride in my kitchen over my antique spice rack. Good luck today; I hope you have some more customers who "get it" and fall in love with your work."
